An ode to the girl In black combat boots

An ode to the girl In black combat boots
Shiny but not new
Never knew
That she's always had the best
Of what her mom could give her
Which include
Anger issue's
and thrifted boots

To the girl In Shiny combat boots
It's no use running
From the cycles that will find you
Hunt you down and confine you
This is who you are now
you are your family's past
It found you young
Fast
You are the prophecy that you never wanted to come to pass

to the girl In black combat boots
You are all the women before you
And all the women after
You will change
The world
For life or disaster

But dear girl
What you don't see
Is the end of the prophecy
You will bring healing
and light

The sound of your boots
Will scare your past into hiding
Your future into finding
the happy ending you've been waiting for

Dear girl
You will show the world
That the women behind and before you
Led to the greatest breakthrough
of the future
A 15-year-old girl
who dreams
And dreams big
