Arrival of Ramadan

Dawn breaks with a pre-dawn meal,
Intention set for spiritual zeal,
As the sun rises, the fast begins,
No food, no drink, no sinful sins.

With the recitation of the Holy Book,
The soul is nourished and the heart looks,
For guidance and wisdom to lead the way,
To live in accordance, day by day.

Charity pours in with an open heart,
To help those in need, a virtuous start,
The poor and the needy, the orphan and old,
All are welcomed in the warmth of gold.

The nights come alive with Taraweeh prayers,
A journey of faith, no one despairs,
The long Rakats, the beautiful recitation,
In awe of the Lord, with full dedication.

The last ten nights, a special time,
To seek the Night of Power in prime,
A night worth more than a thousand months,
The blessings pour in, with spiritual mounts.

As the month draws to a close,
The soul is renewed, the heart glows,
With Eid approaching, the joyous feast,
A celebration of love, with family and friends, at least.

The arrival of Ramadan, a blessing divine,
A month of mercy, of love, of sunshine,
May we all benefit, with hearts aglow,
And reap the rewards in the hereafter, to grow.
