Friendship

Something that confuses me,
Puzzles me,
Everyone has a different idea of it.
“I’m friends with people that act kind,”
I’ll change for you,
“I’m friends with people that do my schoolwork”
I’ve done it for you.

I’ve been thrown to the ground for them,
Stood up for them,
I’d move buildings for them.
Yet I’m called a fake friend,
For hanging out with someone else.

I give them answers to my schoolwork
My hard work
My dedication
In order to keep them

Apologizing?
I’ll always do it first.
I was taught in a household where you’re forced to apologize
Even when you weren’t wrong.
I have apologized so many times,
That my tongue has become sick of the word:
“Sorry,”

I never tend to be anyone’s favorite
It doesn’t matter if I put time and effort into someone
Talking to them on hours on end
Because it doesn't matter who,
They’ll be talking to someone else

Friendship?
A puzzle in which
All pieces are missing.
