The old priest uttered “Dayspring” (Luke1)
I have something of
Real value to say.
Been shut up for months.
By power of that Angel.
Imagine. Talking to an Angel.
Then spouting unbelief.
But he said, speech would
Return at the baby’s birth.
And what a Babe.
Supposed to be named John.
Name’s meaning is Grace.
Unbelievable.
But all has come to pass.
The child foretells
The one great hope of Jewry.
Heroic salvation, the message
Extolling God’s great Mercy.
“Whereby the Dayspring from
On high hath visited us.”
