When The Bough Breaks

When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,
So too the man with no values, no moral call.
Integrity, valour, and the man's code,
Are the cornerstones on which a man's character is bestowed.

When the limb succumbs to fracturing strain,
And the cradle plummets with alarming disdain,
So too the individual with hollow morality,
Whose virtue has vanished in a grim totality.

For when the winds of life come howling and fierce,
And the tempests of change doth make our souls pierce,
It is the man with values that stands tall,
With unwavering conviction, steadfast and gall.

In the face of adversity, he is resolute,
His morals unshakeable, his strength astute,
For he knows that when the bough breaks and all seems lost,
It is the man of valour who will pay the cost.

His word is his bond, his honour his shield,
His actions speak louder than words, his character revealed,
For integrity is the foundation on which he stands,
A rock of strength, unyielding in all lands.

Let us strive to build our lives,
On a foundation of honour, truth, and drive,
For when the bough breaks and the winds doth call,
It is the man of character who shall not fall.
