On the Gridiron

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Lord I love you; I want to see your face,
You know I no longer want to live in disgrace.
When you make a way Lord you make a Way,
I have to confess to your glory today.

No worries ahead and no troubles behind,
Your grace and your mercy are all that I find!

Your laws are perfect and true and right,
Your every thought has become my delight,
We all need some blockers to defend as we run,
You’ve given us the best Lord; you gave us your Son!

His Spirit protects us at the start of each play,
Now victory is ours, none can stand in His way!

Thank you, Lord Jesus, because you overcame the world.
