He Suffers. Better to sit and say nothing

Doug Blair 1951 (London)

Last week he lost his Dad.
Great guy Dad was.
Knew something was coming.
Knew he must submit
And move on. Next chapter…
What can I do?
But Friend is grieving.
Testy and questioning
Hard to approach right now.
Do I have words, or some
Similar testimony?
Nah, it would only lacerate.
Come across as judging.
I know what.
In my basement, a borrowed tool.
Needs to be returned.
That will get me inside.
A sitting down, cup of tea, Earl Grey.
Saying little or nothing.
Just being there.
