Codependent Addiction

Codependent Addiction - Icalynn "Icey" Hawley 02.04.2023

The high is gone, reality hits.
Bodies aching for another fix.
Our whole lives have turned to shit.
How did it ever come to this?
From loving to hateful, we were transformed by the dope.
Just trying to find a way to cope.
Quicker than sand, we lost our hope.
At a point, I had to say "NOPE"
I won't follow you down this road
Because I want better for my soul.
Never wanted to feel lower than low.
Unfortunately it means letting you go.
It hurts like hell, I can't lie.
But I won't stay and watch you die.
I want YOU, but you'd rather be high.
So I'm keeping in mind that you're Gods and not mine.
Once more I leave for good.
Even though I don't want to, I know that I should.
Step after step, I walk away.
Praying to God that you'll be okay.
Next to your body I'd love to lay.
But with my life I cannot play.
I simply just cant take anymore.
Now I have found an all new roar.
So I will, on eagles wings, soar.
And never again use drugs no more.
