Serve at the Throne

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

As weak as a lamb or as strong as a lion,
You’re just spinning your wheels if you’re still out there trying.
If you’re trying to get it, before your time has come,
Then you ought to sit down and recall where you’re from!

The life you are living is no longer your own.
You’ve been saved by God’s grace and you serve at His throne.
Just be a good servant and do what is right.
Our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us how to fight!

We shouldn’t fight for the things that don’t glorify Jesus.
When we do then the enemy is right there to seize us.
He’s crouched there at the door; waiting for us to sin.
He wants to drag us off and make us serve him!

You were bought with a price, a price you couldn’t pay!
And the blood of our Lord is still with us today!
If you can’t find the strength to just sit there still,
Then how can you hope to be doing God’s will?
