HEY DAD!

Hey dad
I just remembered what growing up with you felt like
You told us that the python vomits diamond
With my innocent mind , I believed
And I helped you pass on the story

You told us that your father was a great fisherman that uses his bare hands to catch big sea animals
And I believed , my innocent creative mind never stopped wondering what it feels like
You told us you've seen and eaten a whale and
My innocent creative mind never stopped creating the picture

What went wrong
What happened to my childhood hero
Where is the hero that fights off my bullies
Did my creative mind create those memories too

My hero left us in the war front
With no skills and armour to Wade off our enemies

Hey Dad ,
I guess you've forgotten
Buh   you still deserve to know
Am now in tetiary institution
And , there are many bullies here more than you can imagine
Am doing a great job in fighting them alone
Now they're filling me with stories
Cos my story store is empty and they're helping to fill it up

Hey Dad ,
I bought a gum yesterday uhmmm
I felt like am betraying you, buh you're not here and it's been a long time I heard don't chew gum
I tried to chew decently though so you don't have to worry about that part

Hey Dad ,
Yesterday, a man came to our home shouting at mum
And I remembered the last time, how you beat up the other man
Your boy tried to play the role buh the man pushed him aside
Guess he's not Dad after all

I thought I should fill you up on what happened since you left
Since you're still my dad after all and you played the role while it lasted.
