Solitude

Solitude, my silent friend,
With desolation by thy side,
Thou art my solace in the end,
My refuge from the world outside.

In thy embrace, I find release,
From all the noise and chaos there,
And in thy barrenness, true peace,
That others cannot compare.

Thou art the keeper of my secrets,
The one who knows my deepest fears,
And in thy company, I feel protected,
From the doubts and doubts that appear.

For though the world may call thee cold,
And see thy beauty as a curse,
I know that in thy arms, I'll hold,
The truest and most profound verse.

So let them mock and let them scoff,
At my dear solitude and friend,
For in thy company, I'll never be lost,
Till the very end.
