Judgment

If I could be judged for the things that I’ve done, I would probably laugh then cry some and run,

It’s not fair, I would say like a child, while somehow hoping my sentence be mild,

If I stood to the judge and looked in his eyes it wouldn’t take long for me to realize,

Things might have been different instead of my way, I wouldn’t feel lost on this judgment day,

I would stand up straight no wondering why, I feel like a boy lost wanting to cry,

But today is not the day to be judged by the one, instead I am judged by me and my some,

Much harsher am I than others it seems, I punish myself hang high from the beams,

I try to see clear through these bars on my cell, my sentence called life could this be hell,

Not for an instance or even a blink, my life on this earth will end soon I think….

— by ME

About this poem

I am my harshest judge. Forgiveness is a gift most all deserve. How will I ever be able to forgive others if I don’t forgive myself.
