Dear Martin Luther King Jr.

Dear Martin Luther King Jr,

You have always been one of my many heroes!
I can't put into words the things you've done for our country..
I appreciate it now more than ever now that I'm older...
I just want to tell you thanks

You walked and did so many milestones for all people
You made this world a better place
You made equality possible
You are a brave soul

I know everything in this world isn't perfectly the way you wanted it
You did leave a mark on my heart anyways..
You were brave and never looked back
I love you for what you have done

Although many places and many people have lots to work on in 2023
I feel like your presence was peaceful one
You wanted everyone to feel accepted regardless of looks,
That's what I loved about your guts

Thanks MLK for everything you've done
Thanks MLK for your heart
Thanks for your character
Thanks for your humility

You were amazing
You were definitely one of my heroes
I wish I could meet you
I wish I could shake your hand and give you this poem

You now live amongst other great people
You now have the view of how far we've come
I hope you are somewhat proud
We do have some work to do

But things will hopefully get better in time

About this poem

If I could meet and thank him...
