Wildflowers

Vahati 1945 (New York)

Wildflowers

Upon my walk today
A wildflower patch presented itself to me
A mural of color
only One artist could paint.

I walked slowly around
Invited to sit down
I observed its dance
stems topped with red, yellow and blue
swayed and danced with the breeze
sensuously inviting the bee and me.

No script to follow
No ego to quell
Each flower gave freely,
its essence to the bee
its beauty to me

Small and delicate
Large and bold
Each flower
A picture to behold

The patch a collection
of each separate one
together more beautiful
than one could have done.

Would everyone see
Our world is the patch,
each person a flower
a part of the thatch.

No one as better
not even the Saint
Each one is needed
Part of the Paint.
