Time and laughter disappear
On the crest of whiskey tears
Christmas shimmers in the air
Season blest through whiskey tears
Homeless people bundled close
Dispossessed by whiskey tears
Windblown cairns of brick and glass
Coalesced from whiskey tears
Kathy went to Midnight Mass
She confessed in whiskey tears
About this poem
I used to play around with Poetry in Motion, in which a group of words are provided, and you pick out words to create a poem. The words "whiskey" and "tears" were among the choices one day while I was using Poetry in Motion. (The phrase "Whiskey Tears" was in a country song by Dierks Bentley in 2003. My poem was written in 2005 and has no relationship to the song.)
