VIVID COLOURS

Tanya Giri 2002 (Prayagraj)

These colours tell two stories
Of the very different conflicting glories.

Look at the blue,
Representing vacuity
But also look at that blue
Of the bright and calm sky.

Look at that red,
Representing death and danger
But also look at that red
Of the beautiful roses

Look at the grey,
Of the dark heavy clouds
but also, at the grey
Of the luminous moon

Look at that green,
of the deep angry sea
But also look at the green
Of the young vibrant leaves.

Look at the black colour,
Representing the unmerciful devil
But also look at the black of my eyes
Full of dreams and aspiration.
