Triumph

Nikki Lauder 1979 (Taumaranui)

Lost in thought.
Eyes glazed.
Her inner strength
Left her amazed.

She marvelled in awe,
At Beauty laid bare.
A silent thought
Of how she got here.

Arduous and tough,
The journey long.
Yet quietly peaceful
Wrapped in birdsong.

About this poem

Too often we forget to look back on the hard road we travel and actually praise ourselves for how we journey.
