Slowly

Slowly 1963 (New Jersey)

Ode

I see myself slowly vanishing,
Soon I will be no more.
Who is that person in the mirror?
Today, I'm not so sure.

Looking tired, feeling alone
I'm slowly fading away.
Knowing Im on limited time,
Taking it day by day.

My eyes have lost that sparkle
Now gray, from a piercing blue,
It takes your body and your mind,
Scarring your soul too.

One day, you will not recognize,
Who's looking back at you.
A stranger is all you see,
Suddenly, you're at peace,
Letting go, and feeling free.
