Ghost Of Harlem Old
I'm a renaissance man
A true poet yes I am
I was born in the wrong era
And threw the winds of time I stand
I can hear the winds of Harlem roar
Real poets we have no more
That can touch the hearts of a people
And make there minds soar
They took us places we never been
Poetry like a breeze so inhale the wind
They took us on a ride through there minds
And there thoughts that lies within
The road to the future
Is always born in the past
Within life's mysteries lies our history
Of why the poet will forever last
Poets embrace the world around
Turning words into beloved sounds
Making there thoughts skip off the page
Just like a roaring twenties rage
From the depths of Langston Hughes
His words embellish and never confused
Words came deep from within his soul
Just like the Ghost Of Harlem Old
As poets cascade the wrath of time
They ignite the spark within our minds
They light the way down dusty roads
As thoughts take off and then explode
Yes I'm a renaissance man
A true poet yes I am
I was born in the wrong era
And threw the winds of time I stand
