Future, Past, Present

We plan, we pray, we hope, we prepare
for something we can never reach.
The FUTURE will always be one step ahead
That's something that they can't teach.

It shapes and guides us, teaches and trains
but it really no longer exists.
The PAST is long gone, yet still hangs on
with our memories, until they fade to mist.

Now who, pray tell, can surmount them both
use them as tools without falling to their trap.
The PRESENT is where we will always be
to live...is to remember that.
