Sorrowful reminisce

I stood aside a tortured man with no means of resisting her touch
Even though my infatuation grew,,, she doesn’t love me and it hurts so much
I’ve tried everything in powers grasp to win her over once more
But this time I’ve failed ..and all is lost… I have no winners score
Love like roses, die with the malnourished soil
No steady light to feed it and all waters spoil
Drought has surrounded my land with no vegetation to be grown
Long as I can remember, I’ve loved her for as long as I’ve ever known
But the times have changed as well as minds and hearts
When the wind blows, the thorns from her stems fly at me like darts
Running is to no avail, as they come from every direction
Now good times are over, no more love…no more affection
Alone I stand in the rain to hide the tears from my own reflection
