City by the Sea (Welcome to Cape Town)

I’m sitting on this mountain top
Mellow as can be
Looking over the point where the two oceans meet
And as I walk around and I see the town
You know she’s alive
Hustling and bustling with people
All trying to get by to survive

These city lights they speak to me they show what its like to be free
And from what I’ve seen and where I’ve been I know where I am tonight
Is paradise

In Cape Town the city by the sea
where you can be as free as you choose to be
and everyone’s as high as the great blue sky

I spoke to an old bergie man on the loose
He said you ain't got nothing you ain't got nothing to lose
This city is the kind of place you’ll find that isn’t bothered by this
Illusion of time

So welcome to the city by the sea,
Where you can be as free as you choose to be
And the ladies are the most, beautiful you’ll ever sea
So welcome to Cape Town, the city by the sea

When you’re lost in the burbs and you don’t know which way to go
Just head for table-mountain she will lead you back home

Black or white, coloured or green, why would it matter to me?
