Soul Searching Solstice

Naive I grow in an aging mode,
Assured beliefs I question,
My foes of most,
Revealed to me,
Humane and sincere,
It’s somewhat clear,
Yet wrong they still perchance to be,
as I long for sanity,
In a unified field theory
of humanity.

Is it wisdom or indecision,
Understanding or delusion,
I do not know,
My mind to and fro
making sense of the nonsense
that exists in our presence.

As far as I still can tell,
The sin of initiated force,
Remains the tenet of human course,
But the question still reigns,
When did the tort initiate.

And how does it stop,
Before the reciprocal blinding of eyes
makes the whole world blind--
of hope and love and peace in kind.

The heart and the head with empathy and  reason,
Liberty with love is one message for the season.
