Long Island Woods

freespirit30 1967 (Carthage)

As children growing up on Long Island,
My brother and I spent time in the woods.
We would cross the street and explore,
Just wondering around and looking about.
Once when we were "lost in the forest,"
We came upon a cabin.
We were scared and excited at the same time,
My brother had the courage to go look first.
I thought we should tell our mom before going in,
Fortunately for us, it was empty, no one was there.
