I tried

I tried my best,
 to keep us safe,
I tried I tried,
And I still remember,
 the fights we had,
You stormed out the kitchen,
You put out a fight,
You broke the barrier,
But eventually came back,
And I felt safe again

You left me,
You stranded me,
Whilst you went out in safety,
I was unwell mentally,
You didn’t care once,
Well, I don’t care either,
So don’t try coming back,
You selfish loser.

And I remember the last fight,
When you pulled me aside,
And you kept on going,
While I stayed behind,
And You moved on forward,
Whilst I moved to the side,
And I wished here,
 But now you’re not.

You left me,
You stranded me,
Whilst you went out in safety,
I was unwell mentally,
You didn’t care once,
Well, I don’t care either,
So don’t try coming back,
You selfish loser.

And I wish you the best,
Now that I’ve moved on,
Well, I really don’t,
You messed me up good,
You really did,
I tried and tried,
But you didn’t.

Alice Drowne

I'm a person writing poems for fun and for meaning, I feel like poems are short stories where you can share anything without judgement, like they're little eye holes into someone's life or a thing/time. more…
