Curious creativity,
The warmth of your embrace,
And the gentleness of your humanity.
Nightly routines,
Of holding you tight,
Softly rocking,
Back and forth,
Your head laid on the plumbness of my chest,
With each rise and fall of breath,
You fade, eyelids flutter,
Trying to keep the moment,
Fallen into the deep rest of comfort.
Broken-hearted,
Soul depleted,
Lifeless living, spirit weakened.
Holding hope to go on.
