Comfort is Found in His Word

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

I like things just the way they are;
A friend recently said to me.

I thought to myself, you know I do too,
Because neither one of us can see.

If we both know we’re blind
And we share the same Spirit;
I’d say we’re perfectly matched.

To live in this place
And live without disgrace,
Because to it we’re not too attached.

I know you’re a Jew
And you know I’m a Gentile;
But still we both worship the LORD!

And we know that our peace
And our comfort is found,
In no place that’s outside of His Word!

In heaven we’ll see no distinction;
All of faith are the children of God!

And it’s only in Christ’s reflection,
That we truly can see who we are!
