WORDS HAVE POWER

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I at last found the voice that I lost so many years ago
I found a purpose inside of these rhymes and poor grammar that you never really did understand. all you ever said was why do you always have a pen and paper in hand?

Dear Mama in my teenage years when I did not know who I wanted to be and I was feeling alone I wrote about whatever came to mind have it be about the government. love, sex whatever the case may be yes I say F*CK a lot in my poetry but you have no clue how my ramblings saved me

I would come home from school after spending the day being bullied because I was different I never wanted to be the same I embrace my weirdness so I would sit in my room turn the music on and write because I knew my words had the power to wipe away my tears
