A Friend Worth Keeping

I don't know about these feelings that I hide. . .
Do I tell you how I feel or just keep them inside?
For the way you laugh and the way you smile
It's so sweet and innocent, just like a child
The way you walk defines a woman's grace
At times, I find I'm lost in your warm embrace
It's your caring, selfless ways I think of each and every day
This is why I must swallow my pride so as not to be afraid
To let you see how the happiness you unknowingly radiate
Brightens the days of all those with whom you communicate
I am trying, but it's hard when there are so few words defined
That can truly express the beauty of both your body and mind
You are like the sun that warms us from high in the sky
Or as kind and welcome as a smile from a friendly passerby
And, as sweet and gentle as a cool breeze on a warm afternoon
You are pure and sincere like a flower that awaits to bloom
I will be there for you, no matter what, joyous or weeping
Cause I know, in my heart, you're a friend worth keeping
