Where Is My Son

New Years Eve & my son haven't called
He must be having himself a ball
Sitting at home missing him all day
Yet he don't call with a thing to say
I talk to my other Son about how I feel
He say,"Don't worry Mom I'll help you heal".
Will he call before I go to bed?
Or is he somewhere getting laid?
What kind of kid won't think of his mother
On this day if not no other
Can I blame myself for his behavior
They tell me he's a player
I'm not calling him if he don't call me
Because he's in college and he's grown
Watching the fireworks on the air
While sitting in my favorite chair
His Brother leans to me and gives me a hug
Saying, "Don't worry Mom, you can have my love".
I'll never forget you on this day of the year
Because, as your Son my job is to be here."
