Twilight

Dawn upon us a new radiance
And embrace the twilit domain from which you rose
Entwined is the locks that flow akin to springs
Savor the momento from your era past
Cast aside demons from your psyche
Revel in the truth of sanity given corporeal form
Relish the serenity still yet to achieve
Yet neglect not that which forms you
Of gleam
Of umbra
Verate the twilight soul
Dwelling atop corpses stonehearted

About this poem

This poem describes a girl who grew up with a darker past than most, experiencing and feeling emotions most others her age had the luxury not to. The words are composed by a boy who has fallen for this girl. Throughout the poem, he encourages her to become a new, whole person by combining her misfortune with fortune (He sees himself as the fortune.) In short, this poem is about Totality, and how love is capable of recognizing and embracing totality within other people.
