THE NEVER ENDING

I remember the days of yore....
The hatred morning school bells
The aroma of my new copies
The muddy taste of slate pencils
My dreamy nights with MR BEAN'S teddy
The forcably food bites from mom
My messy girly drawings with Shakalaka boom boom and fragrant erasers....
Never the less, concentrated more on my birthday chocolates to be brought.
The innermost baby girl in me muttered, " YES , I M THE LUCKIEST".

Then... My teens set foot in
The never ending weekly tests and surprise tests..
The kick start motivation of the teachers
The ceaseless advice of the parents
The constraint of getting good ranks too...
The late night studies with my 2 AM Maggie's....
The innermost girl in me said,
" YES, I M THE LUCKIEST".

Now stepped another milestone of adulthood..so called " marriage age".
After all, I am a girl. Inevitable to spend my rest of the lifetime in my better halfs home.
My inner voice screamed reaching the blue.., remembering the agony.
But I knew, it was of no use.
The only ray of hope would be the man standing in suits and boots beside me.
Now, the innermost LADY in me is questioning.....

Will the smile on my face erase or enlighten??
Will I feel the absence of the hands that raised me??
Will I get those strengthy shoulders to lay down my head??
Will I become the prey only for his lust??
NEVER THE LESS, AM I THE LUCKIEST??...
