Stars

Stars, oh the stars.
They shined brightly
It was the only shimmer of light I saw
My tears stung my eyes
It was cold out here I decided.
I was in only underwear and a shirt
The stars seemed to stare at me
I stared back softly.
Unable to fight or speak.
Then,
I was pulled back inside the house
My hair being pulled as I screamed
The stars were gone.
Oh stars, you’re so beautiful.
Let me stare into the stars once more.
Before I lay my head and cry.
Let me see them.
Just this once.
