Soul of Love
Dr. Tulika Sarkar 1996 (Baharampur)
You are my dream and my eternal companion;
You are the first rays of the sun and a night filled with stars!
I am your shadow;
I am the illusion of gentle clouds in your blue sky.
With the back of your hand, shield the lamp from the storm.
Please don't leave my hand, if it gets dark.
The more you accept, the more you bind me in love—
Stay by my side,
Keep life green with peace.
I'll create a love garland out of the difficulties and joys of your worship.
You flew away as soon as I touched your shadow!
You forgot to read the declaration of secret love and respond to it—
This mind got lost by your intoxic gestures.
Every time you gaze at me with those deep eyes, my eyes stop blinking, and I find myself speechless.
Your turning away and then looking back at me drives me crazy!
My tomorrow is smiling at me while keeping a face hidden.
Time sends a letter flying to my address with your name on it.
Life moves on....
In the rows of strange faces, the familiar faces resurface as your hand touches mine;
Everyday, your emotions and a letter sent in anonymity come and go;
I can't stop them.
Our relationship's development is outlined step by step—
We have crossed many people,
We have stayed out of many people's sight,
But still some unspoken language remained between us.
