So Good It Does

Rish 2004 (Karnataka)

Everything lovely
The past,
Yeah it was
Now there's just longing
For a peaceful abode
Out of this dilemma
Of memories
That hurts,
But so good, it does
As if the blood is dripping
But the crimson is lovely
As if the cut stings
But is a carved art
As if the bones are cracking
But the sound is melodic
As if being torn apart
But by your soothing touch
And yes it hurts
But so good, it does
Those snips, of memories
Means a lifetime
But for that 'one' involved
Is just a bygone
When that 'one' starts
A new day, each dawn
I relive my old days
In the dilemma that hurts
But so good, it does
As much pathetic it sounds
That lovely it feels
Yes the hurt
The agony
Overshadowed
By an overcrowded emptiness
By the chaos of silence
By an incomplete fullness
Full to the brink
Still a hollow
A step to the end
Still at the start
Just like all my attempts
To reach you,
But here
You brought me
Back to square one
I was resolute though
Kept running
To reach you
All in vain, it was
As if to touch the horizon
As if to touch the sky
I ran, though I knew
You weren't waiting
Where my path ends
But I kept running
To the pain that awaits
Because it hurts
And so good, it does
Everything seems
Like it was ought to happen
Like it was never a choice
Like the sufferings were inevitable
Like it was a mandatory loss
All predestined
But I ended up blaming myself
For losing something
That was never meant to be mine
As reparations to the hurt
I've caused to myself
I ended up hoping
Hoping for impossible
And then the realisation hits
So hard that it hurts
But so good, it does
Really, no good seems this good

About this poem

Sometimes when the wounds hurt good... like soo good that you feel like getting hurt often. It's exciting how it's hard to explain at the same time you want to share the feeling. This poem goes explaining how it hurts but so good it does.
