Post breakup poem

Chimnani Gayatri 2003 (Gujarat)

In the beginning, our relationship was perfect,
Everything in everyway was all set,
For spending time with each other, no one was late,
I wanted to keep you forever, that was the fact.

But when you realized, that I'd not go anywhere,
Whenever you need me, I'll always be there,
Even if you do or don't, I will always care,
You started taking me for granted, which was unfair.

You made me feel that I was wrong,
You made me feel that I wasn't strong,
But see now I am writing this song,
To prove that I'm strong and wasn't wrong

These are not just my words which are speaking,
These are also my emotions that are screaming,
That you are the one, I used to keep dreaming,
Now finally we are at the final stage of leaving.

But everything is ok now,
I am feeling better now,
Feeling free from the prison now,
Loving myself better now,
You can actually go now,
If you come back, I'll say no now,
Saying finally bye to you now,
Doing what I should've long before now,

I'm actually happy now,
Loving myself better now.

About this poem

This is the poem I wrote after leaving my toxic relationship, when I was in the relationship I didn't know that it was toxic but now I can see everything clearly and I have learnt many things from it as well so this is the main theme of the poem.
