Dream of an Bangladeshi Housewife
I love the man I married
I find home in him
I love the man I married
I like the child in him
My husband, my husband
How caring he is
My husband, my husband
How loyal he is
At nights he loves me
At days he cares
At nights he loves me
At days he shares
He just brought a saree for me
A white gajra in hand
He just brought a saree for me
A red rose in hand
He kissed me in forehead
Hugged me like this
He kissed me in forehead
Such a passionate kiss
The world so rude
But he protects me from all
The world is so rude
But he is my home, that's all
We are cuddling right now
He is so lost in me
We are cuddling right now
O! Pretty happy me
Is someone knocking on the door?
Will someone disturb us now?
Is someone knocking on the door?
Will he leave me now?
Oh! Was it mocking morning dream?
So truly designed, so truly felt!
Oh! Was it mocking morning dream?
So truly designed, so truly felt!
My husband leaves me now
Angry with the knock
Calls me lazy right now
Sleeping for too long
It's okay it's okay I know
It's all my fault that I missed morning call
I should not sleep this much
I am a housewife after all.
About this poem
Most of the housewives of Bangladesh are deprived of husband passionate love. They spend the whole life trying to make husbands happy so that they can get husbands' love for their soul; not body. Most of the husbands hesitates to show love to their wives in front of other family members even because it's kind of shameful thing for a man here! These wifes dream for husbands' love, care and small lovely gifts. They want cuddling and passionate intimacy instead of just sex. Also, for being a housewife they have some limitations in lifestyle. They have to follow some rules too; like waking up before everyone and doing every annoying duties like opening door always. The housewife of this poem represents crores of housewives of Bangladesh. more »
