Free verse
If I were to touch your soul
Would you feel its depth?
If I were to touch your heart
Would you love me yet?

Ours is a love of time and effort.
Where it will all end up
We have no way of knowing.
But the journey is real.

And I have loved you like no other
I have cared for no one since
My eyes met yours
And our lips touched.

You are my life, my love, and my soul.
I have no memory of any others.
For you are mine and I am yours
From now until this journey ends.
