Gold
He was a man made of silver,
but you were gold
like the sun and moon,
two different kinds of magic, that
seemed to enchant anyone who
dared a glance your way
electrum, you thought,
but you melted hotter
and he lower, and unless properly
contained,
he would run away
it saddens me to see a woman
of your worth treated like
you’re no more than iron,
worthless the second rust
sets in.
