Stomach Pains

A pain that doesn't hurt,
A dread that makes you giggle,
A fear that isn't frightening at all.

My heart feels too high,
My stomach too low,
A hollowness in the center.
Like my body is making space for this feeling.

My stomach hurts when I think of you.
It flutters, so pleasant in its unease,
Like being giddy with anticipation.

A fear of rejection, maybe,
An insecurity of the self, perhaps,
An excitement for even a touch, most definitely.
