TRUTH

sia 2004 (visakhapatnam)

She looked pretty, she seemed expensive,
everyone clung to her
and I couldn't help but envy her
for her being the girl I can't be
but what I didn't notice is her story
something which only she knows.
Those scars concealed behind her flawless skin,
and her dreamy looks were dropping aside her
 nightmares
I had to put my envy away;
to listen to her secrets,
to know her real life beyond all  those
happy giggles and her friendly persona.
Her truth, when revealed, it got to me
that it was named ‘her truth’ for a reason
because it was untold for seasons.

About this poem

Truth is a poem about a girl who appears to be cheerful and everyone loves her. But ironically she has been hiding unbearable nightmares in her soul.
