These Days are Bad Days

K.J.C 2000 (Bukidnon)

These days I look up at the blue sky a lot
These days I go out to enjoy the stars at night
these days I spend time with my self more
Because these days are bad days I'm always afraid for

I'm puzzled of how people continue to love despite the pain
I'm confused how unhappy people say money can't buy happiness
I'm fascinated with the thought of living someone else's life
I'm hating the fact that I'm spitting bullshits in mirrors

Because money can buy happiness but not contentment
And that life is not all about success but surviving
That sometimes dragging other people to your hell is comfort
And that toxicity is my own definition of self love.

But today I choose to love myself more
though it takes time to make peace with my flaws
No one can understand me better than me
Because maybe I can't be rich but at least I can be happy

About this poem

This poem contains all of me, what I feel lately. I am afraid no one would understand me if I tell them how I've been going. I hate myself and even wished to live as someone else, anyone else just not me. But I am learning to love myself starting today I will make peace with the fact that I only get to love once, and I am embracing me.
