The Cycle of Melodies and Remembering

Melodies float through the window,
And awake my dusty dormant mind,
I'm reminded of a story,
Of a girl who got lost in the present,
She tried to find her way,
But couldn't escape,
No friends to bid her goodbye,
She lay dormant in the recesses of her dust and lonely mind,
And it would remind her of a story,
The story of a girl who couldn't escape her mind.

About this poem

This poem I wrote has a cyclical feel to it. I wrote it with the intention of it being read more than once. It envokes in me how it feels to overthink or get constantly lost in thought. Hope you enjoy!
