Silence

Faith Olademo 2010 (Georgia)

You talk and chatter
With all your laughter
Your noise cancels out the one thing
The thing that helps me breathe
                                                                                Silence

Your words so bitter
My heart's last beat
Raging whispers
Burning heat
Peace is all I need
All I need
                                                                                Silence

It stings like acid when it touches skin
The burning fire from with in
Fast to start but slow to end
Slowly life drains from the burning skin
                                                                               Silence!!!
...
Silence I plead
Take a moment, please
Listen to the birds sing
As the trees wave
At the whispering wind
as it refreshes the day
Watch the flowers dance
With cheerful grins
                                                                               Silence

The soothing rhythm of the rain
As it brings life
                                                                                Silence
The river keeps its calm
As the creatures swim, a long
                                                                                 Silence

The burning stops
My heart beat starts up
Skin so soft it could deceive
A grin spreads across my face
As I shut the world out
Silence atlas
My quiet place
                                                                                Silence

My freedom
My peace
                                                           My silence
                                                       Has come to me

About this poem

I wrote this poem because I'm more of an introvert and like spending time by myself alone outside where it's quiet.
