Only earth is our hearth.

Only Earth is our Hearth.

If the earth crumbles
Which home will shelter our race?
With our hands, we are unclothing our house,
Leaving green skin naked — at the mercy of heaven's scorching eyes.

With our hands, we are trapping ourselves
In the hazy stench of stinging gases.
We are painting poisonous portraits of water & wind,
Firing up mother earth’s temperature

And I also hear the blare of machine saws
Raking down forests whose leaves were canopies
That shield mother earth
From the blazing color of the sun

The cautioning voice of nature echoes softly,
Clamoring for the safety of our future.
Let us come together now or never,
And save our planet.

Only earth is our home
Come let’s plant trees, and erase global warming
Reduce carbon footprint, and prevent climate change.
Only earth is our hearth.

About this poem

This poem portrays the effects of climate change. It is creating awareness of the damage we are causing to our earth. Voices have to be heard, something has to be done to curtail the doom. If care is not taken, we earth will crumble.
