my shell is very dear to me
like a mother to her suckling child
it gives me comfort in a world wild

my shell is very dear to me
like a father to his female child
it gives me security from public ridicule

my shell is very dear to me
like a considerate spouse
it gives me respite so I don't trespass

my shell is very dear to me
and so so bad to me
it prevents me from living a complete life
by feeding my illusions and giving me subtle suicide.
