Holiday is here



Now we turn our agony into festival,
stretch our laughter towards ball and spree,
for the dusty choking smell of books has fled,
bruises from daily library visits we once suffered bandaged,
and our minds blown up by grenade theories
stitched into place,
our wit tested unfairly, our hearts torn asunder by shoe-sized grades,
and our tears thrown out to the gale, rewarded…

About this poem

This poem is an expectation that most students have whenever they are going for a holiday. I wrote this poem from my teaching experience. It makes me live in the reality of my students.
