Clueless

He was a washed out boy from California
She was a strong, independent woman
They both lived in one house
In the apartment building that was sold out
She worked hard to pass her exams
He only cared for her to follow his demands
Naughty thoughts had flooded his mind
She hadn't known that love could be so blind
He called her bestie, babe, one and only
She thought that with him she'd never be lonely
One night he called for help
 with his studies
We know very well
That he had other plans
But she was so clueless
She regrets it now
But regretting is useless
He told her, "I love you"
She mumbled, "okay"
Let's finish the assignment and then go our way
But he couldn't wait any second longer
Tried to fight him off but he was just stronger
Groaning, suppressed screams and tears in her eyes
Blinded but she finally saw through all his lies
It was that time of the month but according to him, "who cares?"
The thought she had found a lover but true lovers are very rare
Ten years passed and she's scrubbing floors
In the same apartment building she had lived in once before
A few years ago, she couldn't manage bills
She couldn't stand it so she lived on her pills
A foetus she had fished down the toilet
They say to her,"that's life"
But that's not the life I wanted
Now she's staring at the mopped marble floors
At the reflection that could've been so so much more.
Looking at her scrubbing brush she thought to herself
"I'll get myself out of this mess if I have to scrub through it all "
