A shell

A SHELL
I feel as though I am a wingless fairy
lock away in a castle of my creation
i can neither see the sky
nor feel the warmth of the sun
i can only feel the walls growing and closing in on me
i long to see the world beyond the walls

if I were to climb the ever-growing wall
will I reach the top?
will my wings sprout?
will I see the world beyond?
or will I fall
and forever remain imprison in my own castle
unable to become the version of myself I wish to be?
