Vatileaks

Sam Madeyin 1991 (Ogun States)

All sides looked at the octo Popemobile ride a whole whiles
innumerable showers of love stood a miles

with tearstained faces to sender the bye-bye, off and long
It was as in the saints babbles throng
Held up huge flyers and written banners crafted with messages of remembrance
I stood flaunted and was as watchers fly among

Vatican's yellow white flags at the pontiff's waved last
clutching woman with rosary wiped away her tears as the octogenarian wished benediction need to out for pass

Seen another hush fell over the Pilgrims sea
We are not here for sorry plea
We don't mind what's vatileaked by scandalous hate
We stand for our Papa's and God blessed his reigns

"Benedict we'll miss you!" and "The pope is the heart of this city"

About this poem

I felt sorry about punch newspaper 2003 headlined with newsletter about the reigns of Pope Ben XVI and his departure through the scandals and vatileaked. A smilliing Benedict looked relaxed as his white "popemobile" bore him through the famous plaza where more than 150,000 people had amassed under a bright, cloudless sky for his historical send-off.
